A natural gas line was ruptured in Palm Springs Tuesday, possibly by a construction crew, but the flow of gas was quickly cut off and no major disruptions were reported.
The break was reported around noon in the 100 block of Museum Drive, with the Palm Springs Fire Department urging residents to avoid the area.
Fire Capt. Nathan Gunkel said Southern California Gas Co. workers were able to cut off the flow of gas within about 10 minutes. No injuries were reported.
Gunkel said construction work in the area was believed to be the cause of the leak.
