The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose 1.4 cents Friday to $4.638, its highest amount since Oct. 16, 2012, one day after recording its largest daily increase since Feb. 19, 2.6 cents.
The average price is 4.8 cents more than one week ago, 19.5 cents higher than one month ago and $1.482 greater than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The Orange County average price rose 1.4 cents to $4.605, its highest amount since Oct. 15, 2012, one day after recording its largest daily increase since Feb. 19, 3.5 cents. It is 6.1 cents more than one week ago, 19.6 cents higher than one month ago and $1.484 greater than one year ago.
