Orange County sheriff’s investigators Thursday released an updated image of an unidentified teen whose body was found in Trabuco Canyon in the mid-1990s in the hopes it generates leads that could identify him.
The remains of the unidentified boy, who was estimated to be about 15 to 19 years old, were found on Dec. 13, 1996, in a wilderness area east of Trabuco Creek Road. Investigators estimated he had been there for about two years and went missing sometime in 1995 or 1996.
The unidentified male was about 5 feet, 2 inches to 5 feet, 8 inches tall and had a medium build. His teeth appeared to be in poor condition.
Last year, a CT scan of the skull was made and sent to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which used its technology to reconstruct what he may have looked like. The unidentified male was of Latin American descent and further genetic testing indicated that he was from a remote or rural area of Latin America.
Anyone who may have relevant information that could help identify the teen was asked to call 714-647-7400 or email email@example.com and include the case number, 96-07901-MU.
