The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Saturday for the 43rd consecutive day, decreasing 1.7 cents to $5.169, its lowest amount since Aug. 9.
The average price has dropped $1.146 over the past 43 days, including 1.4 cents Friday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. The streak follows a run of 23 increases in 25 days totaling 91.8 cents.
The average price is 9.9 cents less than one week ago, 75.2 cents lower than one month ago and 35.9 cents cheaper than one year ago. It has dropped $1.325 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price also dropped 1.7 cents, to $5.022 — its lowest amount since July 29. It has decreased 41 times in the last 43 days, falling $1.266, including 1.4 cents Friday.
The Orange County average price is 7.3 cents less than one week ago, 71.9 cents lower than one month ago and 41.4 cents cheaper than one year ago. It has dropped $1.437 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price dropped for the 44th consecutive day and 52nd time in 54 days, falling 1.4 cents to $3.376. It has dropped 50.5 cents over the past 55 days, including 1.1 cents Friday.
The national average price is 5 cents less than one week ago, 28.7 cents lower than one month ago and 41.8 cents cheaper than one year ago. It has dropped $1.64 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
