The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped two-tenths of a cent Thursday to $5.143, its 48th decrease in the past 49 days.
The average price is 5.7 cents less than one week ago, 64 cents lower than one month ago and 32 cents cheaper than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $1.351 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price dropped six-tenths of a cent to $5.997. It is 5.6 cents less than one week ago, 60.1 cents lower than one month ago and 36 cents cheaper than one year ago. It has dropped $1.462 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price dropped for the 49th consecutive day, falling three-tenths of a cent to $3.342. It is 5.9 cents less than one week ago, 25.8 cents lower than one month ago and 40.1 cents cheaper than one year ago. It has dropped $1.674 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
