After days of fluctuations, the average price of a gallon of self-serve gasoline rose Sunday in Los Angeles and Log Beach to $4.572, up from $4.546 on Saturday, according to figures from the Automobile Club of Southern California.

The figure was higher than a week ago, when the price stood at $4.565, but lower than a month ago, when gasoline sold for $4.737 per gallon on average. According to the club, motorists were paying an average of $4.565 per gallon one year ago.

The average price in Orange County rose as well, from $4.465 per gallon on Saturday to $4.503 Sunday. That’s up from a week ago, when the price averaged $4.461, and down from a month ago, when the average price was $4.629.
