The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose six-tenths of a cent Sunday to $4.952, its highest amount since Nov. 29.
The average price is 2.3 cents more than one week ago, 14.7 cents more than one month ago and 6 cents more than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $1.536 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price rose two-tenths of a cent to $4.91, its highest amount since Nov. 21. The Orange County average price is 2.4 cents more than one week ago, 14.6 cents more than one month ago and 5.7 cents more than one year ago. It has dropped $1.549 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price rose six-tenths of a cent to $3.461, its fifth consecutive increase. The national average price is 6.7 cents more than one week ago, 17.9 cents higher than one month ago and four-tenths of a cent more than one year ago. It has dropped $1.555 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
“This is the time of year we normally see pump prices start to rise,” AAA spokesman Andrew Gross said last week. “And while prices have been rather pokey so far, they should begin to accelerate and move higher very soon.”
