The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose Tuesday for the ninth time in 10 days, increasing 1.3 cents to $4.545.
The average price has risen by 5.4 cents over the past 10 days, including three-tenths of a cent Monday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It rose a half-cent Jan. 26, four-tenths of a cent Jan. 27, dropped four-tenths of a cent last Tuesday and resumed increasing Wednesday.
The average price is 4.9 cents more than one week ago and 11.9 cents higher than one month ago but 13.8 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.949 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price rose for the eighth consecutive day, increasing 1.7 cents to $4.504. It has risen 6.9 cents in eight days, including a half-cent Monday.
The Orange County average price is 6.7 cents more than one week ago and 13.5 cents higher than one month ago but 11.8 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.955 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price rose nine-tenths of a cent to $3.107, one day after a run of nine increases in 10 days totaling 3.7 cents ended when it was unchanged. It is 1.3 cents less than one week ago and 4 cents lower than one year ago but 4.3 cents more than one month ago.
The national average price has dropped $1.909 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
“The national average has seen little meaningful change over the past week, as oil markets continue to face selling pressure,” said Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, which provides real-time gas price information from more than 150,000 stations.
