The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Saturday for the 11th time in the last 12 days, decreasing three-tenths of a cent to $4.839.
The average price is 3.5 cents less than one week ago, 18 cents more than one month ago and 55.4 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $1.655 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price dropped for the 13th consecutive day, decreasing four-tenths of a cent to $4.776. The Orange County average price is 4 cents less than one week ago, 15.7 cents more than one month ago and 56.5 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.683 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.
“According to Oil Price Information Service and the California Energy Commission, production of gasoline increased in the past week, reversing a previous decline caused by refinery maintenance,” said Doug Shupe, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager.
The national average price declined seven-tenths of a cent to $3.155, its 13th decrease in the last 14 days. The average price is 4.1 cents less than one week ago, 5.3 cents more than one month ago and 52.4 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.861 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
