The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Saturday for the 11th consecutive day, decreasing six-tenths of a cent to $4.697, its lowest amount since March 27.
The average price has dropped 10.9 cents over the past 11 days, including 1.4 cents Friday, according to figures from AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It is 6 cents less than one week ago, 5.4 cents less than one month ago and 22 cents less than one year ago. The average price has dropped $1.796 since rising to a record $6.493 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price dropped for the 11th time in 12 days, decreasing 1.1 cents to $4.607, its lowest amount since March 25. It has dropped 10.8 cents over the past 12 days, including 1.1 cents Friday.
The Orange County average price is 6 cents less than one week ago, 8.1 cents less than one month ago and 20.9 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.851 since rising to a record $6.458 on Oct. 5, 2022.
“According to Oil Price Information Service and the Energy Information Administration, West Coast refineries have increased their output to the highest levels in three months, which has boosted gas inventories,” Doug Shupe, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager, said in a statement.
“However, OPIS also reports some unplanned and planned refinery maintenance is happening at a couple of Southern California refineries this week.”
The national average price dropped 1 cent to $3.131. It is 1.9 cents less than one week ago, 2.3 cents less than one month ago and 34 cents less than one year ago. The national average price has dropped $1.885 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
