The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County increased 1.1 cents Saturday to $4.479.
The average price is 1.4 cents more than one week ago, but 3.1 cents less than one month ago and 9 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the American Automobile Association and the Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $2.014 since rising to a record $6.493 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price rose for the seventh consecutive day, increasing eight-tenths of a cent to $4.44. It is 2.5 cents more than one week ago, but 1.2 cents less than one month ago and 5.8 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $2.018 since rising to a record $6.458 on Oct. 5, 2022.
“As the summer road trip season winds down, local drivers are continuing to pay the lowest gas prices since 2021,” Doug Shupe, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager, said in a statement issued Thursday.
The national average price fell 1.1 cents to $3.142. It is three-tenths of a cent less than one week ago, 1.8 cents less than one month ago and 29 cents less than one year ago. The national average price has dropped $1.874 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
