The average prices of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles and Orange counties were at their lowest amounts for Labor Day since 2021 Monday, $4.64 in Los Angeles County and $4.607 in Orange County.
The Los Angeles County average price has risen 12 of the past 13 days, increasing 16.4 cents, including nine-tenths of a cent Monday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 6.1 cents more than one week ago, 16.7 cents higher than one month ago and 4.2 cents more than one year ago. It has dropped $1.853 since rising to a record $6.493 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price has risen 12 consecutive days, increasing 16.5 cents, including a half-cent Monday. It is 5.5 cents more than one week ago, 18.9 cents higher than one month ago and 8.4 cents more than one year ago. The Orange County average price has dropped $1.851 since rising to a record $6.458 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price rose two-tenths of a cent to $3.19, after three consecutive decreases totaling 2.2 cents. The national average price is 2.9 cents more than one week ago and 3.9 cents higher than one month ago, but 14.2 cents less than one year ago. It has dropped $1.826 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
