Authorities sought the public’s assistance Wednesday in locating an at-risk 65-year-old woman last seen in South Los Angeles, prompting the issuance of a Silver Alert.

Taumaia Andrews was last seen at approximately 4 p.m. Monday near West 39th Street and Normandie Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol, which activated the alert on behalf of the Los Angeles Police Department.

Andrews was described as a 5-foot-7-inch-tall woman weighing 160 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing an orange T-shirt, tie-dye sweatpants and tan slippers.

Anyone with information regarding Andrews’ whereabouts was urged to call 911.

The Silver Alert program was established by the CHP to issue and coordinate alerts involving the unexplained or suspicious disappearances of elderly, developmentally disabled or cognitively impaired individuals.
