With repairs nearly completed on a massive water main break that flooded a swath of West Hollywood a week ago, another leak occurred Thursday a few miles away along Santa Monica Boulevard, but with far less damaging results.

According to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, the leak occurred in a 6-inch cast-iron water main near Santa Monica Boulevard and Laurel Avenue. The leak caused some minor flooding in the area, affecting traffic on heavily traveled Santa Monica Boulevard, but there were no reports of serious damage.

LADWP spokeswoman Pamela Workman said there was no estimated time for repairs to be completed.
