A water main ruptured in the Hollywood Hills Thursday, sending water cascading down streets but not immediately causing any major damage.
The break occurred shortly after 1 p.m. in the area of Laurel Pass and Wonderland avenues.
Video from the scene showed water flowing down streets in the area, but there was no immediate indication of the water inundating any vehicles or structures, including nearby Wonderland Avenue Elementary School.
Los Angeles Department of Water and Power workers cut off the flow of water by later Thursday afternoon, and work was underway to assess and repair the damage. It was unclear how long the work might take or how many DWP customers were being affected.
