A water main ruptured in the Hollywood Hills Thursday, sending water cascading down streets but not immediately causing any major damage.

The break occurred shortly after 1 p.m. in the area of Laurel Pass and Wonderland avenues.

Video from the scene showed water flowing down streets in the area, but there was no immediate indication of the water inundating any vehicles or structures, including nearby Wonderland Avenue Elementary School.

A Los Angeles Department of Water and Power spokeswoman said a crew was at the scene to assess the situation. It was unclear how many DWP customers might be affected, and there was no immediate estimate on when the issue would be repaired.
