The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose Monday for the sixth consecutive day, increasing seven-tenths of a cent to $5.681.
The average price has risen 3,9 cents over the past six days, including 1 cent on Sunday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 3.3 cents more than one week ago, 3.6 cents higher than one month ago and $1.112 greater than one year ago.
The average price has increased 98.7 cents since the start of the joint U.S./Israel attack on Iran on Feb. 28, which sent oil prices higher and drastically accelerated increases at the gas pump.
The Orange County average price also rose for the sixth consecutive day, increasing eight-tenths of a cent to $5.639. It has risen 6.4 cents over the past six days, including 2.7 cents Sunday.
The Orange County average price is 5.4 cents more than one week ago, 4.5 cents higher than one month ago and $1.095 greater than one year ago. It has increased $1.003 since the start of the attack on Iran.
The national average price rose one-tenth of a cent to $4.099 after back-to-back decreases totaling 1.1 cents. It is 3.6 cents more than one week ago and 94.6 cents higher than one year ago but six-tents of a cent less than one month ago.
The national average price has increased $1.117 since the attack on Iran.
The national average price is at its highest amount this late in the calendar year, according to Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, which provides real-time gas price information from more than 150,000 stations.
