A water main break in Pacific Palisades Thursday prompted Malibu officials to issue a plea for residents citywide to limit water use while repairs were made.
The leak was on the water line serving Malibu and Topanga Canyon near 16300 block of Pacific Coast Highway, north of Temescal Canyon Road.
Construction crews went to work on the west side of the roadway and heavy traffic was reported in the area.
Malibu officials urged residents to conserve water, avoid outdoor water use and turn off automatic sprinklers.
“Los Angeles County Waterworks District 29, Malibu-Topanga, is currently responding to a water leak,” according to a social media dispatch issued by the city about 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
“They are requesting that all customers, including all of (the) city of Malibu, immediately conserve water to help maintain system stability, until further notice.”
