A boat caught fire Wednesday in Huntington Beach and sank.

Personnel from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife Office of Spill Prevention and Response and the United States Coast Guard responded to the Huntington Beach Harbor on Wednesday, where they discovered the 40-foot sunken vessel, according to state officials.

A diesel sheen was observed after an estimated 450 gallons of fuel spilled into the body of water.

The Huntington Beach Fire Department knocked down the flames aboard the boat and later conducted a cleanup operation.
