Firefighters Monday knocked down a 1.3-acre vegetation fire at a landfill on the border of San Juan Capistrano and the unincorporated Rancho Mission Viejo area in less than 10 minutes.
Firefighters were dispatched about 2 p.m. Monday to the Prima Deschecha Landfill, according to the Orange County Fire Authority.
OC Waste & Recycling personnel sprayed water on the fire. Firefighters used hose lines and hand tools to stop the fire’s progress, the OCFA reported.
No injuries were reported and no structures were threatened.
