A fire that erupted Wednesday in the engine of a big rig parked near a Mead Valley intersection spread to a second truck before crews got it under control.
The non-injury blaze was reported about 12:35 p.m. on Martin Street, near Robinson Street, roughly a mile west of Interstate 215, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Multiple engine crews were sent to the location and encountered flames in the engine compartment of one rig, extending to the front half of another parked adjacent to it. Firefighters fully contained the blaze in 30 minutes.
County Department of Environmental Health inspectors were summoned to look for possible contaminants resulting from the fire.
There was no apparent damage to cargo in either semi, officials said.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
