A fire that erupted Tuesday in Jurupa Valley damaged two homes before crews slowed it down.
The two-alarm blaze was reported at 4:25 p.m. near the intersection of Dodd and 56th streets, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
Multiple crews from the county, as well as the city of Corona, were sent to the location and encountered flames extending from an attached garage into a single-story house. Within minutes, the fire reached a neighboring property, burning through a fence, according to reports from the scene.
By 4:50 p.m., crews were making progress encircling the fire, preventing it from threatening other residences. There were no reports of injuries.
Sheriff’s deputies closed access to the area impacted by the fire, detouring traffic onto other streets.
There was no immediate word on what triggered the blaze.
