It took 12 firefighters less than 30 minutes Saturday evening to put out a half-acre vegetation fire in the city of Riverside.
The fire was reported at 9:09 p.m. in the 10400 block of Beckworth Court, according to Riverside Fire Department Battalion Chief Michael Allen.
Firefighters had difficulty accessing the flames off of the Riverside Canal, Allen said.
The flames were out at 9:35 p.m., and firefighters took time afterward to make sure there were no hot spots to reignite, he said.
