A woman who died when a car ran a red light and struck her vehicle in Moreno Valley was identified Thursday as a resident of the city.
Susan Wiseman, 64, was pronounced dead at an area hospital on Wednesday, three days after the crash, which was reported about 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
Wiseman was behind the wheel of her Toyota Matrix on Via Xavier, making a turn onto Lasselle Street, when the driver of a Kia Forte sped through a red light and slammed into her vehicle in the intersection, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Firefighters freed Wiseman from the wreckage, and she was rushed to Riverside University Health System Medical Center, where she later died due to her injuries, officials reported.
The driver of the Kia and a passenger riding in the vehicle were not hurt, officials said.
Intoxication was not believed to be a factor in the crash, according to investigators.
Witnesses were urged to call the sheriff’s department at 951-776-1099
