Road work will continue Tuesday evening along Interstate 10 between Desert Center and an area west of Blythe, and motorists were urged to brace for delays.

Crews are set to make repairs along 30 miles of interstate, between Desert Center and the Wiley’s Well Rest Area, which is about 15 miles west of Blythe. Crews plan to repave shoulders and install new guardrails, rumble strips, drainage systems and ramps, according to Caltrans.

The project is still in its early stages, with crews set to clear debris along the shoulder areas this week between 5 p.m. and 5 a.m. through Friday. Caltrans said lanes and ramps may also be shut down periodically.

Weekend work is forthcoming, though specifics have not been released.

The project is set to wrap up in spring 2025.
