A trash truck caught fire Tuesday in La Quinta, forcing closure of an intersection but no injuries were reported.
The blaze was reported at around 3:40 p.m. near the intersection of Avenida Bermudas and Calle Tecate, the Riverside County Fire Department reported.
Firefighters arrived on the scene shortly after with four engines and were able to extinguish the flame approximately 20 minutes later, according to officials.
The intersection of Avenida Bermudas and Calle Tecate will be closed until around 7 p.m. as firefighters clear the scene, a La Quinta official reported.
Details about the damage to the truck could not be provided.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
