A motorhome burst into flames on Interstate 10 near Banning Wednesday, blocking a freeway lane and causing major traffic delays, but it was unclear if anyone was injured.
The fire was reported at 9:22 a.m. on the westbound freeway east of 22nd Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.
One traffic lane was closed due to the fire and it was expected to remain blocked until at least 4 p.m., according to Caltrans. Authorities urged motorists to find alternative routes due to extensive delays in the area.
