Authorities Friday were investigating a solo vehicle crash in Jurupa Valley seriously injured both occupants.
Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a major injury traffic collision around 11 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Mission Boulevard and Crestmore Road and found a vehicle that had rolled over.
The Riverside County Fire Department was called to the scene and reported that one person had been ejected from the vehicle and the other trapped inside it.
Both occupants were transported to a local hospital in critical condition, with one undergoing surgery, according to the sheriff’s department.
Officials believe the vehicle was speeding and lost control, then hit a curb and a palm tree and rolled down an embankment.
Mission Boulevard, Crestmore Road and Rubidoux Drive were closed during the investigation.
It was unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision, which was under investigation.
