A three-alarm fire erupted inside a warehouse in Moreno Valley Wednesday, burning through the roof before firefighters slowed its progress.
The non-injury blaze was reported about 10:20 a.m. in the 14000 block of Day Street, just south of Alessandro Boulevard, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
A dozen engine crews were sent to the location and encountered heavy smoke originating from the north side of the 150,000-square-foot facility, which had been fully evacuated. Flames were concentrated in the attic and soon ate into the ceiling, according to reports from the scene.
Firefighters stopped the blaze from spreading to lower floors, but as of 10:55 a.m., the fire was still active on one side of the warehouse, officials said.
There was no immediate word on what might have caused the fire.
