Two people were injured Wednesday, one of them a child, in a rollover crash on Interstate 15 in Temescal Valley.

The wreck was reported at about 9:40 a.m. on northbound I-15 near Indian Truck Trail, roughly halfway between Corona and Lake Elsinore, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The agency said a Jeep and a Chevrolet Silverado pickup collided in the fast lane, causing the Chevy to overturn.

Two adults and two children were in the pickup, from which they were extricated with the aid of good Samaritans, the CHP said.

No one in the Jeep was hurt.

Riverside County and Corona Fire Department engine crews were sent to the location and found one of the minors and a man with minor injuries. The man declined medical attention, but the child, whose identity was not disclosed, was taken to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar for treatment, officials said.

As of 10:30 a.m., at least one lane on northbound I-15 remained shut down while the CHP completed a preliminary investigation.
