A motorist died Friday when their vehicle drove off the side of Interstate 215 and burst into flames in Moreno Valley.
The solo-vehicle collision was reported at about 9:10 p.m. on northbound Interstate 215 near the Moreno Valley (60) Freeway transition road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A preliminary report revealed the vehicle crossed from the carpool lane to the right shoulder of Interstate 215 before driving off the side, flipping over and catching fire, the CHP reported.
The person was pronounced dead at the scene. Their name was not immediately released.
The CHP could not immediately confirm whether anyone else was injured in the collision.
