An investigation was continuing Friday into a crash at a San Jacinto intersection that killed a 73-year-old woman.

Diana Borden of San Jacinto was fatally injured about 6:15 a.m. Thursday at Community College Drive and State Street.

The two-vehicle collision occurred near the entrance to Mt. San Jacinto College, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Sgt. Deanna Pecoraro said the details were still being sorted out, adding that the investigation is “active and ongoing.”

According to county fire officials, firefighters reached the location within a few minutes and found two people injured.

Borden was extricated from her vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The other motorist was taken to a hospital for treatment of moderate injuries, officials said.

The intersection was partially closed for several hours while the wreckage was cleared and deputies collected evidence.

Anyone with information was asked to contact the San Jacinto sheriff’s station at 951-654-2702.
