Motorists in Indio could encounter some detours and delays beginning next week as the city begins a nearly month-long road-paving project.
The repaving work will be done from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays beginning Monday and continuing through Nov. 19. Crews will apply new slurry and striping to roads throughout the city in an effort to extend the life of the roadways.
The current project includes neighborhoods in the area of Circle Drive, Green Avenue, Arus Avenue, Showcase Parkway, Aquarius Street, Lido Avenue, Swingle Avenue and Jewel Street. Officials have alerted residents to expect road delays and to plan for alternative routes.
Notices with detailed closure plans will be sent out at least 72 hours prior to scheduled work.
The project is a part of the city’s larger, $3 million street maintenance program funded by the American Rescue Plan Act.
