A person was transported to a hospital with burn injuries Friday after a vehicle towing a trailer burst into flames in Palm Desert.

The Riverside County Fire Department received a report of the vehicle fire at 9:23 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Washington Street and Varner Road.

Fire crews arrived on the scene to find a single vehicle towing a trailer fully enveloped in flames and contained the blaze approximately 20 minutes later, according to officials.

A civilian received moderate burn injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital.

The cause of the blaze was under investigation.
