Firefighters Tuesday were on the scene of a hiker rescue incident in Palm Springs.
The Palm Springs Fire Department alerted the public at 2:17 p.m. Tuesday that they were working to rescue a hiker who was injured on the South Lykken Trail.
A California Highway Patrol helicopter was en route to the patient, who was being treated by paramedics at the scene.
The extent of the injuries and how the hiker was injured were unknown.
