A small earthquake shook an area north of Cabazon Friday, but there were no immediate reports of any damage or injuries.

The temblor had a preliminary magnitude of 3.3, and it struck about five miles north of Cabazon and nearly seven miles northeast of Banning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake struck at 5:39 p.m., according to the USGS.
