Firefighters Friday contained a slow-spreading acre-wide brush fire that started in Jurupa Valley.
The Riverside County fire Department received a report of the blaze at 10:34 a.m. in the area of Limonite Avenue and Marlatt Street.
Fire crews arrived to find a vegetation fire near the river bottom at what was described as “a low rate of spread,” and were able to contain it at 12:07 p.m., according to officials.
Firefighters are expected to remain on the scene for mop up until approximately 2 p.m.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
