As another winter storm moved into the Inland Empire, the Riverside County Department of Transportation Monday maintained closures on three roads that were flooded in the most recent storm.

According to county officials, a segment of Bridge Street at Gilman Springs Road, just north of San Jacinto, will remain under a closure order, but the duration was not specified.

The closure went into effect Christmas morning after a deluge left standing water on the roadway.

It was unclear whether repairs would be necessary.

Also closed was Leon Road, between Domenigoni Parkway and Olive Avenue, in Winchester, which was flooded on Friday night, officials said.

There was no word on the likely duration of the closure or the extent of repairs that may be needed.

Lastly, the transportation department was maintaining a closure on Noble Street, between Dutton and Orchard streets, in Cherry Valley. The location is prone to flooding, and the street was swamped on Thursday night.

Detours are in place for all the closures.

The storm system rolling into the area Monday evening is expected to produce moderate to heavy rainfall at times. According to the National Weather Service, the front will sweep through the region, exiting Tuesday night, only to be replaced by a stronger system on Wednesday. That trough of low pressure is predicted to slowly trundle eastward, generating precipitation into Friday.
