A motorcyclist was killed Monday when he ran into a sign alongside an off-ramp from Interstate 15 in Corona.
The fatality occurred about 4 a.m. at the Magnolia Avenue exit from northbound I-15, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Officer Juan Quintero said the rider, whose identity was not immediately released, was traveling at an unknown speed when he left the freeway, skidding onto the shoulder of the off-ramp and plowing into the traffic sign.
“The impact caused the rider to be ejected from the bike,” Quintero said.
No other vehicles were involved.
Paramedics arrived within a few minutes and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Anyone with information was asked to contact the CHP’s Riverside office at 951-637-8000.
