A fire damaged a house in Riverside early Tuesday and left a person with critical burns, authorities said.
Firefighters were sent to the 10200 Block of Victoria Avenue about 3:30 a.m., according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
“Upon arrival, crews found a working fire in a ranch-style, single-family dwelling,” a fire department statement said. “The residents had evacuated to the front of the home and alerted fire personnel to a critical burn patient on the front sidewalk.”
Paramedics took the person to a hospital, the fire department reported.
“The fire was placed under control with no additional injuries,” the fire department reported.
The fire “appears to be electrical in nature,” the fire department reported. The exact cause remains under investigation.
