A motorcyclist who was fatally injured when his bike flipped after veering off an Aguanga road was identified Monday as a 34-year-old Hemet man.

Desmond Palmer died about 4:20 p.m. Sunday in the 45100 block of Sage Road, just north of Tyler Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officer Mike Lassig said Palmer was riding his 2006 Honda CBR 1000 northbound on Sage at an unknown speed when he “made an unsafe turning movement,” causing the motorcycle to leave the pavement and travel onto the eastern edge of the road.

“The Honda overturned multiple times, causing the victim to be ejected,” Lassig said.

Riverside County Fire Department paramedics reached the location within 20 minutes and pronounced Palmer dead at the scene.

It was unclear whether alcohol or drugs may have been factors in the crash.

The investigation was ongoing, according to Lassig.
