Three people were injured Wednesday in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 215 in Murrieta, which led to the temporary closure of the northbound side of the freeway.
The collision happened about 11:40 a.m. on the northbound I-215 at Clinton Keith Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The agency said that a four-door sedan, a Dodge pickup truck towing a boat and a third vehicle impacted for reasons not immediately clear.
One person was ejected in the crash, suffering major injuries, according to reports from the scene. Two other people were also injured, but the extent of their injuries were unknown.
Murrieta Fire & Rescue paramedics were sent to the location and rendered aid, after which all three victims were taken to a regional trauma center for treatment.
The CHP said that all northbound lanes were shut down for almost two hours because of the wreck, which remains under investigation.
