Palm Springs officials announced Sunday that the city has been designated as a regional site for the observance of Veterans Day by the Veterans Day National Committee of the Department of Veterans Affairs.
The Palm Springs Veterans Day Parade is one of approximately 60 events selected nationwide to receive the honor.
The parade will take place on Friday from 3:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. and will start at the intersection of Palm Canyon Drive at Ramon Road continuing north until its conclusion at Alejo Road.
About 20,000 people are predicted to attend the parade, which will also be broadcasted live on NBC Palm Springs.
