The California Highway Patrol has issued a Silver Alert throughout San Bernardino and Riverside counties where a search is underway for a missing 83-year-old woman.
Esperanza Mendez was last seen at about 4:30 p.m. at Pepper and San Bernardino avenues in Colton, the CHP said.
She is described as Hispanic, 4 feet, 6 inches tall, 130 pounds, with red hair and brown eyes, wearing a purple sweater, dark blue jeans and walking with a cane.
Anyone who sees Mendez was asked to call 911.
A Silver Alert is activated to aid in the recovery of a person who is elderly or developmentally or cognitively impaired goes missing and is determined to be at risk.
