Forecasters Monday were predicting triple-digit temperatures in some parts of Riverside County this week.

Highs reached 101 in Coachella and Palm Springs on Mother’s Day, 87 in Hemet and 86 in downtown Riverside, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures will continue warming up at the beginning of the week and will peak on Tuesday, according to the NWS. Coachella is expected to reach a high of 104, with daytime temperatures reaching the low 90s in other areas of the county.

Forecasters said Thursday will see a slight cool-down, with temperatures dropping to 88 in downtown Riverside and Hemet, and 80 in Temecula.

Friday will be the coolest day with downtown Riverside and Hemet at 86 degrees and Temecula at 78, while Coachella and Palm Springs will drop to 96 before warming up again on Saturday, the NWS said.
