The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped Wednesday for the 72nd time in the last 73 days, decreasing 1.7 cents to $4.636.
The average price has dropped $1.513 over the past 73 days, including 1.3 cents Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
It is 6.9 cents less than one week ago and 36.2 cents lower than one month ago, but 17.4 cents more than one year ago. The average price has dropped $1.737 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price dropped for the 73rd time in 76 days, falling 1.6 cents to $3.121. It is 9.5 cents less than one week ago, 24.4 cents lower than one month ago and 12.4 cents cheaper than one year ago.
The national average price has dropped $1.895 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
