The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County dropped Thursday for the 73rd time in the last 74 days, decreasing 2.5 cents to $4.611.
The average price has dropped $1.538 over the past 74 days, including 1.7 cents Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
It is 7.8 cents less than one week ago and 38.1 cents lower than one month ago, but 19.5 cents more than one year ago. The average price has dropped $1.762 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price dropped for the 74th time in 77 days, falling 1.7 cents to $3.104. It is 9.8 cents less than one week ago, 24.9 cents lower than one month ago and 11 cents cheaper than one year ago.
The national average price has dropped $1.912 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
