The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Riverside County decreased Wednesday for the 37th time in 38 days, dropping 1.4 cents to $4.537.
The average price has dropped 46.9 cents over the past 38 days, including 1.4 cents Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 9.9 cents less than one week ago and 36.9 cents lower than one month ago, but 23.5 cents more than one year ago. It has dropped $1.836 since rising to a record $6.373 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The average price dropped 14 consecutive days, rose one-tenth of a cent Nov. 27 and resumed declining the following day.
The national average price of a gallon of regular gasoline rose for the second day in a row, increasing 1.7 cents to $3.097. It is 2.4 cents less than one week ago, 21.1 cents less than one month ago and 2.6 less than one year ago.
The national average price has decreased $1.919 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
