A winter weather advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service for Riverside County with snow expected above 5,500 feet.
The winter weather advisory is in effect from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday for Running Springs and Wrightwood. The San Bernardino County mountain communities of Big Bear City and Big Bear Lake are also under a winter weather advisory.
From 2 to 5 inches of snow and gusty south winds shifting west from 20 mph to 35 mph are expected. Snow levels could drop to 4,800 feet in some areas.
The winter weather can create slippery and hazardous road conditions and gusty winds could knock down tree branches. The National Weather Service recommends using caution when driving.
