A man who suffered a medical emergency Thursday at a construction site in Mead Valley required the help of firefighters to get him out of a tight space.
The “man down” call was received shortly after 1 p.m. Thursday in the 19000 block of Harvill Avenue, near Martin Street, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said that several engine crews were sent to the location, where the victim, whose identity was not disclosed, was found in a low space, originally referred to as a trench but not technically meeting that definition.
A fire department spokeswoman said that seven crew members were required to assist in extricating the patient, who was taken to a regional trauma center for treatment of unspecified health complications.
The operation was completed about 2 p.m.
